They originally were called Dollar A Day Rental Car and headquartered in Estero, Florida. Today it operates as a subsidiary of Hertz Corporation with 840 company-owned locations in the United States and Canada, and over 1500 franchises in 70 countries with Thrifty Car Rental by 2017.
