Cypress Mountain

Cypress Mountain is a fabulous resort for the ski enthusiast. Not quite Whistler/Blackcomb, Mt. St. Anne, or Mt. Baker, Cypress is a top-dog resort however for a local mountain resort servicing Vancouver, British Columbian ski enthusiasts. Good prices, not too crowded, and skiing from morning till around 11 pm at night, this winter wonderland will enchant you for sure. Best of the three Vancouver ski triads (Mt. Seymour, Grouse, and Cypress) … Cypress is accessible from downtown Vancouver in a 20 minute car drive depending on Lion’s gate bridge traffic. It’s also accessible by shuttle from downtown.

Thursday Night Skiing:
The One-Nighter pass is an excellent cost-effective way to hit the slopes weekly if you live in the area. I chose Thursday night for mine. Most of the thursdays are not very crowded, and excellent spacious time coming down the slopes. It can get quite beautiful when powder puff snow drifts down in the night sky. Cypress is well equipped for night skiing and has its hours running till 10:30 pm. So cool! Day Skiing Adventures:
Of course the best skiing we believe at Cypress is during the day. All the runs are open and all the lifts in operation. You can’t miss out on these.

SNOW TUBING

Cypress Mountain has some alternative winter activities such as Cross Country Skiing, Snow Shoeing, Tabagonning, and Snow Tubing.

On February 3, 2002: “Excellent day for tubing. Me, Emma, and the kids took a late afternoon/early evening day at the tubing slopes. Definitely fun, but a little boring for the adult after a couple runs. We lost fascination with the slopes after about 3-4 runs, the kids however were intrigued and had a blast enough that they want to come back every week for a full day.
